Raising Capable and Godly Children

Children are a gift from God, and as parents, guardians, and mentors, we have a divine responsibility to train them in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). The Bible provides wisdom on parenting, equipping our children with life skills, and preparing them for the future.

In today's fast-changing world, children must not only grow in faith but also develop practical skills to navigate life successfully. The Book of Proverbs, written by the wisest man who ever lived—Solomon—offers many principles on wisdom, discipline, and skills that lead to success.

This book outlines 20 essential skills every child should learn, coupled with scriptural wisdom to guide parents and children alike. As we explore each skill, may we be reminded of Deuteronomy 6:6-7:

"These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."
